On Saturday, Kingswood orienteers competed at Warmley Forest Park in a Schools’ league event and were met by sunshine, wind and hail on the day.

The pupils experienced extremely muddy conditions underfoot following the recent storms.

However, the open terrain with a network of paths and mostly straightforward navigation led to some fast runs.

Jamie finished 1st M18, and 8th overall on the most technical Green course.

Charlie achieved 1st M14 and Will performed well to secure 1st M16, as well as an excellent 1st and 2nd overall on the Orange course.

From Year 7, Arthur also finished 1st M14 on the Yellow course to cap off a successful day for Kingswood Senior School runners.

From the Prep School, on the Yellow course (2.1km), Tom finished 2nd in his age group after a strong run and Alex performed well to achieve 3rd place; Freddie also navigated the course well, winning his age group.

Thomas and Luke both showed determined runs and enjoyed building on their experience of different courses.

On the White course James was 2nd M10, with Charlotte and Elspeth also enjoying their runs.

Well done to all the orienteers from both the Senior and Prep School, and thank you to the parents for bringing them to the event.
