Senior Whole School

Joined by governors, past pupils and servicemen and women, the Kingswood community gathered outside of the Chapel this morning for a moving Remembrance Day service, led by Rev. Katy Thomas.

The Roll of Honour was read by the Senior Deputy Head, Mr Gordon Opie, and by the Headmaster, Mr Andrew Gordon-Brown, during which memorial crosses were placed in the ground to remember the 174 Kingswood staff and students who gave their lives seeking justice and peace.

Our Prep School children also recognised the solemnity of the occasion and a poignant service held on Summerhill Lawn was led beautifully by Reverend Katie, culminating in a minute's silence and a haunting rendition of The Last Post. Children laid wreaths made in class and planted remembrance poppies on the bank.

Our Year 8 students have also been designing their own Poppies and these are on display on the Westwood House lawn to be seen by all during this time.

We will remember them.
