This week the children in The Garden have spent a lot of time outside exploring their beautiful surroundings.

The Hedgehogs loved a sensory walk to the Secret Garden; listening to the sounds of birds and animals and enjoying the noises that dried sticks and fallen leaves make as they walk through them. The squirrels and magpies have been busy in the garden outside The Hedgehogs’ room and the babies love looking at what they are up to through their window. Inside, the children have enjoyed playing with the farm animals, identifying the sounds that they make and where they live.

The Squirrels have enjoyed their lovely new toys this week, they have also spent lots of time building dens with blankets and playing inside them. The children have also been out and about and have spent time in the Secret Garden. It is such a special place to explore and has a really magical feel in the winter time. The Foxes visited the Secret Garden and must have been especially quiet as they were lucky and surprised to stumble across three beautiful deer (although the deer were possibly more surprised than the children!).

Some Christmas craft activities have started to sneak into the rooms. The huge reindeer with a red nose that has been painted on the Hedgehogs’ window can only be referred to as a deer until next week when Christmas in The Garden officially begins.
