Kingswood Association Debating

Old Kingswoodian Freddie Williamson (Class of 2024) made his debut appearance at The Cambridge Union speaking for the proposition in the debate: “This House Believes The Republican Party Has Irretrievably Lost Its Way.”

The Cambridge Union is a historic debating society at the University of Cambridge, founded in 1815, and is one of the world’s oldest and most prestigious forums for public debate.

Freddie, who is a first-year History undergraduate at Cambridge, spoke in front of his peers and invited guests and the proposition carried the motion after six excellent speeches, including Freddie’s.

What a fantastic opportunity to develop public-speaking experience in one of the most prestigious debating societies in the world!
