The Drama Department are delighted to invite you to the Senior Production of Antigone. Performances are on the 9th, 10th & 11th February @ 7.30pm in the Kingswood Theatre. Despite the virus’ attempts to thwart us, the cast, design team and technical crew are working very hard in preparation for opening night. We hope you love Year 13 student, Tom Button’s impressive poster design!

So, what’s it all about? Antigone was originally written in 440BC by Sophocles as the last in the Oedipus Trilogy. The play is a tense and gripping ancient Greek tragedy with all the trappings; conflict, love, power, family, dictatorship v democracy, divine law, pride and death. We are using a modern translation and have updated the setting with a very slick, corporate twist. Observe the struggles of our protagonists, Antigone and Creon as they vie for what they believe is the right course of action and battle with their own excessive pride. It’s a tragedy so death cannot be avoided, but who will fall?

We have all missed live theatre in our school community so it will be a treat to entertain a vibrant audience once again.

Tickets are free and are available now. If you would like to reserve seats please email:
