36 Year 8 students took part in a Faraday STEM Challenge Day last Thursday 24th June, which was organised by The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET).

This national competition aims to encourage aspiring young engineers and provides pupils with an insight into a career in the engineering world.

Hosted at Kingswood, the pupils were put into teams of six and were tasked to plan, design, budget and make a working prototype. Afterwards, they presented their work and explained their ideas to the other groups and teachers.

The prototypes created by each team are currently being scored and we wait to see if the winning team achieved a score that will put them in the national finals!

All of the pupils worked studiously together on the day and there were some brilliant designs - a big well done to all the teams!
