Prep Trips and Visits

On Wednesday 19 June, Year 4 set off on their residential to Folly Farm, a nature reserve bursting with wildlife and stunning scenery.

Upon their arrival, the children split into two groups and did various activities such as bug hunting and pond dipping.

The children were also given the opportunity to look at owl pellets, which they found fascinating.

In the evening, after a delicious supper, the children went for a walk to try and spot some badgers.

Having sat extremely quietly and patiently, the children eventually saw the black and white markings of the badgers face.

The pupils also completed team challenges which encouraged them to work on cooperation, communication and respect for one another, before having lunch in the orchard.

The children made dens in the forest and worked on some survival skills including making campfires, testing whether their dens were waterproof and learning to survive in the wild.

These challenges encouraged the pupils to focus on some different qualities such as kindness, listening and problem solving.

What a fantastic trip that Year 4 will always remember!
