Kingswood Football Celebrates First Win Of The Season
The football teams have now played two fixtures this season.
Following a tough first week against Beechen Cliff which saw both teams lose, the first team took the upper hand this week with a well-earned 1-0 win against local rivals KES.
In a match influenced by the weather conditions, both teams struggled to exert control on the ball and the 0-0 half time score was reflective of few made on either side.
Kingswood started the second half brightly with Joe working hard down the left side of midfield to close down space for the opposition and Lewis and Jack combining well down the right on several occasions.
Man of the Match Oliver was effective in defence and organised the back four well.
The winning goal finally came courtesy of Takuto who was on hand to put the ball in, following a corner swung in by captain Ollie, which KES failed to deal with.
The team managed to hold on for the final five minutes to record the first win of the season.
