Year 5 And 6 Visit 44AD Artspace For Climate Change Exhibition
On Tuesday night, some of the Year 5 and 6 pupils visited 44AD Artspace in Bath for a private viewing of their own and other schools’ work.
During their Wednesday Art Club sessions, the pupils have been creating artwork for the special exhibition on climate change.
The displays were truly inspiring and featured nine of the Prep pupils’ pieces.
The artwork ranged from superheroes fighting for change, to melting worlds with choking smoke and factories in the background.
The pupils could feel the importance of the event as they listened to the four artists who organised the event and shared thoughtful conversations about the responses.
Artist, Ruth Davies, presented paintings depicting heat, flooding and protest.
Tess Hughes’s ceramic sculpture illustrated the devastation caused to coral.
Sarah Kniveton illustrated the critical importance of water with her installation ‘Tipping point’.
Pippa Wrigley displayed watercolour paintings looking at how climate change could affect Bath and suggest what can be done to mitigate it.
The exhibition is being held by the four artists at the 44AD Artspace in Abbey Green, from 13 November until 17 November, and will run from 11.00am – 5.00pm every day until Sunday.
