Prep Pupils Enjoy String Of Athletics Events

Last Monday, pupils in Year 4 took part in running, jumping and throwing events at Monkton alongside a number of other Bath Schools.

The day gave the children an experience of what ‘track and field’ athletics looks like.

The children rotated around eight different activities, ranging from 800m to relay changeovers and from long jump to hurdles.

On Wednesday, the Year 5 girls visited Prior Park School, to participate in the Under 10 and 11 Girls’ Athletics Festival hosted by Paragon School.

With the Year 6 pupils away on their residential adventure, Year 5 stepped up to the challenge covering all events between them.

The day provided a great competitive experience and the children were certainly not of out of place against some older girls from other schools, taking one of the top three places in a good proportion of events.

The pupils put in some superb performances on the track with the highlight of the afternoon being the final relays, where every one of Kingswood’s girls were involved.

Congratulations to everyone who took part for showing brilliant determination throughout the day.
