Latest ISI Inspection Report
Boarding is a key feature of life at Kingswood School, and the boarders are seen as the heartbeat of the community. Our staff are extremely experienced in looking after children, some of whom are a long way from home, and helping them settle, develop and become more independent while still feeling the support of the community. Pupils at Kingswood come to see their boarding house as their second home.
We have seven Houses, six of which are boarding houses and all are situated on our beautiful campus amidst comfortable and relaxed surroundings. Kingswood offers excellent facilities, plenty of good food and a variety of activities for boarders to enjoy. Kingswood’s above-and-beyond pastoral care and boarding provision were both recognised as ‘excellent’ in 2015 in the most recent ISI inspection.
The majority of boarders at Kingswood are full boarders and from the UK, but we welcome boarders from overseas and celebrate our rich and diverse boarding community. Weekly and flexi boarding options are available.
Boarding activities are run on site weekly for all pupils and range from early morning yoga, swimming, tennis and cricket (in season), to evening floodlit hockey or tennis. During the school day, opportunities are available for students to take advantage of creative, sporting, musical and health outlets.
At the weekends, boarders at Kingswood have enjoyed organised trips to theme parks, Harry Potter World, Longleat, Cotswold Water Park, Air Hop Trampoline Park, Swindon Oasis, Hidden Woods and activities such as bowling and shopping. We also organise in-house activities, including games. The Music and Art blocks are also available for anyone who wants a bit of extra practice.
