Kingswood's hockey teams have recently been competing in a number of matches and the teamwork and dedication shown has been commendable.

A cup game was won against Prior Park comfortably. Co-captain Ciara scored a hat-trick, and her pace unsettled the Prior defenders throughout the match. Other players to impress on the day were Tobina and Maya who worked tirelessly both in attack and defence.

The U13s competed in a County Tournament and beat KES 1-0, lost 1-2 to Clifton, and beat Colston’s 2-0 which meant the 13s were in the semi-final. Unfortunately, they lost against Redmaids’ 1-2. However, the team were fantastic and beat schools and narrowed score lines from previous matches. Ciara was influential in defence and Baci in the middle.

The Hockey Club played Dauntsey’s and there were some end-to-end matches which were high scoring and competitive. There were two notable performances - the 2nd XI and the 14As - the 2nds won 2-0 - Eleanor made crucial saves in goal whilst Jo, Ciara, Hayley, Sophia, and Maddie, denied Dauntsey’s many scoring opportunities. Aoife was composed in taking on the goalkeeper in a one-on-one scenario and slipped the ball into the corner. Finally, the 14As played superbly. Maddie was solid in the middle and made every tackle count. Iona and Priya fed the ball beautifully to the forwards. Indeed, Emily scored 4, Jemima 2 and Connie 1. A well-deserved 7-1 win.
