Year 8 pupils explored some spectacular coastline on a Geography Field Trip to the Jurassic Coast on Wednesday 19 May.

The route took them along the chalk headland to Old Harry rocks – one of the most photographed areas of coastline in Britain - and then over Ballard Down, before dropping into Swanage Bay.

The trip enabled the pupils to appreciate the scale of the landforms they had studied in the classroom as well as the processes that formed them. They were also able to contrast the hard chalk cliffs with the soft clay ones that had slipped and slumped. It was a real bonus that the sun shone all day and conditions were superb!
