Before half term, Year 10 GCSE Drama pupils took to the stage to perform their devised assessments.

Together with their written coursework, this constitutes 40% of their final GCSE mark, so the pressure was on to deliver high quality performances.

They all did this in style, demonstrating high standards of creativity as well as impressive collaborative skills.

This year, alongside our excellent performers, six pupils were being assessed on their design skills – either lighting, sound or costume.

This year, there were a number of varied and interesting topics covered including the death of Princess Diana, the work of the White Rose resistance movement against the rise of the Nazi regime, the contribution of Albert Einstein towards the development of nuclear bombs and a light-hearted ‘Inside Out’ inspired look at the way we make decisions.

It will be a long time before the pupils discover the results of their efforts, but the whole cohort should be proud of what they achieved.
