On Sunday afternoon, over 40 pupils and staff took part in the 1000 mile challenge at school, with many more taking part from home.

Pupils covered miles by walking, cycling, running, rowing and gym work, where reps were converted into metres.

Just counting the individuals taking part at school, Kingswood covered 260 miles and have already raised in excess of £350, with lots of sponsorship money still to come in.

Highlights including Ben rowing, running and cycling a distance of 32.5 miles, closely followed by impressive distances from Tomiwo, Charlie and Harry.

Issy, Connie, Dasha and Tobina also impressed with their efforts throughout the afternoon.

The Quad and Ferens Lawn served as a bike track for some of the younger members of the Kingswood community where they too clocked up many miles.

It was a really enjoyable afternoon and all who took part must be commended for their efforts to raise money for Help for Heroes.

Well done to all those who helped out, took part or sponsored a friend!
