Kingswood Netball Club had their usual highly competitive block fixture with King Edward’s School (KES) on Saturday with Kingswood winning the block fixture, only losing four of the 16 matches.

Impressively, Kingswood did not lose any of the Junior matches below A team level, showing an impressive depth of talent running through the year groups.

The 3rd VII were named Team of the Week after they had an epic one goal win after a see-sawing match saw both sides hold the lead at the end of different quarters.

With KES holding a one goal lead into the final quarter, it took steady nerves to edge ahead with Molly, Charlotte and Beth particularly impressive around the mid-court.

A great game was particularly pleasing to edge, though the 2nd VII had the reverse experience, narrowly losing by a single goal.

The U12s lost out but improved significantly as the game progressed with Anna and Scarlett in particularly good form whilst the U13s dominated in all areas of the pitch to win 27-12.

The U14As also had a good win with Ciara and Tobina controlling the mid-court contest.

Despite the 1st VII losing, the overall standard of play was very high and Kingswood finished the game much the stronger of the two sides which has set them up well for this weekend’s Regional Tournament.
