Senior Trips

On Sunday, Year 12 History students travelled to Salisbury to the nation’s largest history festival in Chalke Valley.

During the trip, pupils heard two talks on Medieval History with real relevance to their A-Level History course.

Author and Parliamentarian, Chris Skidmore, spoke about his new book which examines the life and controversial career of Richard III.

The highlight of the day for the pupils was the much-anticipated talk by prominent Medieval historian, Dan Jones.

The bestselling author of The Plantagenets and The Hollow Crown discussed the rise and fall of the Knights Templar.

Jones spoke with energy and charisma; drawing clear and relevant links to the modern world, with humour and enthusiasm.
