Kingswood’s Athletics team travelled to Marlborough College on Saturday and competed against some very strong competition in the form of Bradfield, Clifton College, Sherborne Boys, Bloxham, Rugby School and Cheltenham College.

The Senior Girls put out a very small and select team who all did themselves proud on the day.

Miya was delighted with her Personal Best in the Triple Jump and Jasmin was over the moon winning the Javelin and 100m.

The Inter Girls had a very successful day with a number of podium finishes.

Evie won the 1500m, Ciara won the Javelin and Zoe finished first in the 100m.

The Junior team comprised a number of Year 7 and 8 girls who all thoroughly enjoyed their afternoon out.

Once again, a clutch of podium places were achieved and Clemmie won the Javelin.

The Boys team consisted of a number of Junior athletes who enjoyed some exciting performances.

It was good to see Freddie, in his first meet at Kingswood, putting in fantastic performances in both the 800m and 1500m.

The rest of Kingswood’s team produced a number of PBs and challenged themselves to new events.

A number of athletes were also competing in the County Championships in Filton at the Kip Keino Stadium.

The results are yet to be confirmed but we can report that Grace was delighted with a PB in the Junior Girls Pole Vault, a new event for her this season.

She has now qualified for the Regional Championships next weekend.

In the Inter Girls, Edie came 2nd in the Discus whilst, in the Junior Girls, Alice came 2nd in the 75m Hurdles and won the Long Jump with PBs in both events.

Despite being injured and not able to compete on Saturday, Imogen has also qualified for the Regional Championships and will run in the 100m and potentially the relay.
