FAQs

Frequently asked questions about our School Transport System:

What routes are available?

We offer four routes which cover a wide area surrounding Kingswood. They include Peasdown Saint John, West Harptree, Tetbury and Chippenham with either coaches or minibuses providing the transport.

Will you be adding in any additional stops or new routes?

At this time, there are no plans to offer additional stops or routes although routes are reviewed annually. Many families find the collection from Bath Spa Train station offers an additional option.

Do you offer collection from Bath Spa Train station?

Yes, there is a collection from Bath Spa at 08.05 each morning, dropping back at 17.55, subject to traffic flow through Bath, each evening.

What age group can travel on the bus?

Year 3 and above can travel on the bus. Prep School children are escorted from the Senior School to the Prep School via School minibus or short walk in the morning and back in the afternoon to catch School transport.

When can I book my place?

Bookings for each September open in August each year.  Families will be notified when booking opens, via an email from the School Office. Bookings are made through the Vectare system. The Vectare system allows you to check availability of each route book, pay, and update if your child will not be travelling.  You will require your ISAMs log in to book, which is provided through the School Office at the end of July, although you are able to check routes and cost information without this.

Do I need to book at the start of the year?

Given the popularity of some routes, we recommend booking at least a terms worth of transport, to ensure your child has the transport they need for the full year. Ad hoc bookings are only available from September 2nd, once all termly bookings have been made. Further bookings throughout the year will be possible, based on the availability on each route.

Will my child be guaranteed a place on a bus if needed?

Priority will be given to those families who book for an entire term after which any bookings will be accepted only if there is availability.  While we will always endeavour to support families with bookings, we cannot guarantee that capacity will be increased on any route.

Can I make ad hoc bookings through the year?

Yes, pending availability of a place on the relevant service.

How much will it cost?

Costs will be dependent on route and frequency of travel. Click here to review the nearest stops to your home address and a cost estimate.

What is the notice period for change?

It will be the parents’ responsibility to inform the School via the ‘Contact Us’ form on the website if they no longer wish to use the School bus service. A half term’s notice (ie pre and post half term) must be given by a parent prior to the removal of a student from the School Bus Service (apart from an ad-hoc journey).
