Strong Finish for Kingswood Cricket Teams

Kingswood's cricket teams finished strongly as they were one game away from a clean sweep of the block fixture against QEH. Jake's unbeaten 43 held the 1st team's lacklustre innings together but Charlie and Al then produced an outstanding opening spell of bowling, as they shared 4 wickets for 14 runs from the first 14 overs of the QEH innings. They were well supported by some excellent catching and captain Tommy mopped up the tail with 4 wickets.

There were good batting performances in the younger teams from Charlie, who made 77 not out, for the U15s and Angus, who scored an unbeaten 51 for the U13Bs. Bowling performances of note came from Stephen, who took 5-15 for the U15s and was well supported by Matthew, with 3-9. Rex also took 4-27 for the U13As.

Team of the week, however are the U14As whose persistence this season was rewarded by a fine win on Saturday. Good bowling and catching by the whole team restricted QEH to 94 all out. Ollie (2-5) and Tom (2-11) were the pick of the bowlers. Sam then came in to hit an impressive 37, including the only 6 of the match off their opening bowler, and Ollie K and Ollie W saw the team home with 5 overs and 4 wickets to spare.
