Kingswood edged past Bristol QEH in a very competitive block fixture with the U14As producing their best performance of the season to earn the team of the week. Their QEH counterparts had beaten them convincingly in each of the previous two years but some resolute Kingswood defence early on kept the opposition pointless.
The U14As kept the ball well and adapted intelligently to a new game plan which was remarkably effective. Kingswood's scrum-half directed the play well with some great line-out drives from the forwards and the team were able to dominate the ball. Kingswood led 17-0 at the break and in the second half, they kicked effectively into the corner. James' second try sealed the win, despite two late consolation tries for QEH.
Elsewhere, for the Westwood teams, Joe scored four tries and Elliot scored five whilst all of the senior teams won at home. Man of the Match Tom Royston scored a hat-trick for the 1st XV. The U13A's & B's also won very close games with excellent performances.
