Each house has a Senior Housemaster or Housemistress and he or she has a team of tutors drawn from the teaching staff. Each tutor is responsible for about a dozen students and he or she will ensure their academic and social welfare, whilst also monitoring progress in their studies and their contribution to the wider life of the School through activities and leadership roles.
In addition to their house, all sixth formers belong to the Dixon, which is run by a member of staff with a team of tutors. This provides another source of support and guidance as well as ensuring that the students a have a strong sense of unity. In that way it is easy to acquire new friends among those who belong to other houses. The Dixon Centre normally operates its own social committee to help organize events requested by sixth formers.
