When Prior’s Court and Hermitage House merged to form Kingswood Prep School (KPS) in 1995, nobody could have envisaged its future popularity and growth.
Over the last 20 years it has emerged as a leading Prep School not just in Bath, but in the whole of the South West. In a beautiful setting, with a real country feel, yet just a short walk from the centre of the city, KPS provides a perfect location for young children to embark on the most important chapter in their lives, laying solid foundations in learning and attitudes, nurturing a love of music, sport, drama and art, and providing the opportunity to take part in a wide range of activities outside the classroom.
At Kingswood Prep School we are aiming high. We want what our children are learning to be relevant throughout the whole of their lives and for them to be well-rounded, kind, communicative, hard-working and passionate about their world. As Kofi Anan said: “Education is a human right with immense power to transform. On its foundation rest the cornerstones of freedom, democracy and sustainable human development”. We are proud to be part of a Foundation with a distinctive ethos and the time is right to update our facilities to match the level of teaching and pastoral care at our school.
Our new development will enhance the educational journey of all of our children, and we are excited by the additional opportunities and possibilities that the new buildings will open up for our pupils. The Nursery will cater for children from 9 months old and will be open for 50 weeks of the year.
Nelson Mandela once said: “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”. It is our aim to provide our children with a firstclass all-round education in first-class facilities to enable them to go out into the world and make it a better place.
If we get the foundations right, the rest will follow.
Mr Mark Brearey, Headmaster
