Reception Visit To Weston-Super-Mare

We certainly chose the right day to travel to the seaside this year! Beautiful blue skies and sandy children gave us plenty of warm, smiling faces. The Seaquarium gave us a real chance to get up close to some interesting sea creatures, learning in our talk about animals that you might find in a rockpool. Did you know that a starfish moves its stomach outside of its body to eat its food? The children held sharks’ eggs, mussels, starfish and more, and learned about the dangers of leaving litter and plastic on the beach for the sealife. From rays to basking sharks, it was lovely to see the children learning so much about the sea. Lunch on the beach was followed by some impressive sandcastles, cartwheels and laughter. The children were an absolute pleasure to be with!
