We Will Remember Them
The Whole School Service on Friday 6th November took the form of an outdoor Remembrance Service to remember past pupils who lost their lives through service to their country in times of war.
The Senior School gathered together outside the School Chapel, with staff and Governors to offer their prayers and pay their respect, as Headmaster, Simon Morris, and the President of the Kingswood Association, Robert Sandry (representing all past pupils), read out a list of 176 names.
As each individual name was read, a member of the Sixth Form planted a Cross in the Chapel lawn. Wreaths were laid in the Kingswood Memorial Chapel by the Head Boy, Euan Gordon, and Head Girl, Hannah Bishay.
Chaplain and Deputy Head (Pastoral), Reverend Mike Wilkinson, led the Service and said,
“It was a very moving experience for us all and a great tribute from our current school community to all those Kingswood pupils who served and gave their lives for their country.”
Kingswood musicians accompanied the hymns, 'Abide With Me' and 'I Vow To Thee My Country'. A brass ensemble played 'The Last Post'.
