Children from Year 4 at Kingswood Prep School had a memorable day at Folly Farm in the Mendips.  The children learnt that the Vikings were much more farmers than raiders, and they learnt several of the crafts that they would have had to have done if they had been Viking children.  Crafts included weaving mini hurdles, making felt and they thoroughly enjoyed getting really muddy making wattle and daub  “… very messy but great fun!”

Another important lesson was to see how much ‘greener’ the Vikings were than we are today.   Thanks to our hard working kitchen staff, the Avon Valley organisers were pleased to be able to congratulate us on our eco-friendly lunches.
