Cricket week concluded with a match between the 1st X1 and a Headmaster's X1. The Headmaster's X1 was made up of ten of the school's most illustrious former cricketers and was captained by the Headmaster himself.
With what looked like a strong batting line-up, the Headmaster's X1 batted first and looked set to post a big total. However, the 1st X1 bowlers had not read the script as they were dismissed for a disappointing total of 138, Sam McMeekin top-scoring with 36 and Alex Field making 24. Sam Elliott and Tim Rouse both took 3 wickets with the Headmaster being the last wicket to fall, caught by 1st X1 captain and Head Boy, Euan Gordon.
The 1st X1 got off to a good start with Euan scoring 29 and Alex Clark 20 before the Headmaster gained his revenge, dismissing Euan with a fine catch at mid-off. However, the Rouse brothers saw the 1st X1 to a comfortable victory with Harry finishing unbeaten on 53 and Tim making 32 not out.
The fixture was a fitting end to cricket week, with many old faces returning to Kingswood to watch a most enjoyable game.
