The Drama Curriculum
Students can study Drama from Year 7 to 13 if they wish. They currently have one period a week in Years 7 and 8 and then participate in the Practical Creative roundabout in Year 9 where they can either opt to study Drama for all three terms or choose one of the other Practical Creative subjects (Art, Design Technology or Music) and study Drama for one term.
GCSE Drama is a popular choice and the results for the past seven years have been 100% A* - C with an average of over 70% getting A* or A in the past three years.
A Level Drama and Theatre Studies is a popular option and many students go on to further their education in this area at specialist Drama schools such as RADA, Rose Bruford and Central School of Music and Drama, as well as at universities. As with GCSE, we have had a 100% pass rate for the past seven years with an average of over 85% gaining A or B at A Level.
