The Project Begins!

Over the coming weeks, we shall be receiving regular progress reports from Mr Ray Brown of Bishopston Stevens, who is acting as the School's Client Representative for this project and these will be featured on the School website. Mr Brown's first report in January stated the following:

"Competitive tenders were received for the project in October 2010 and following a detailed analysis, H.B. Lewis were appointed. Work commenced on schedule, but was immediately affected by the frost and snow in November. Unfortunately without concrete in the ground, all following trades were subsequently delayed. Some drainage works and electrical diversion works commenced, but even then the continuing cold weather slowed progress.

However, we are delighted that having reassessed the sequencing of work we shall be on target for a completion date at the end of August 2011. We appreciate that the weather conditions could still cause us a few problems but we will keep you posted of our progress over the coming weeks. It will be a good sign if we can see cranes on site by the end of March."
