Another great MJSD night to remember!

"On Friday Night I had the chance to go back to Kingswood to enjoy a meal, drinks and conversation at MJSD. It was great to meet many old friends; staff, pupils and parents, some of whom I had taught in the 1970’s and who had braved the cold of a March night to come along. It was particularly gratifying, if not a relief, to find that we still recognised each other! We were assured that there are generally no speeches, but this time there was an opportunity to welcome the new Chairman of the Kingswood Association, Jeremy Wimpress (KS 1969-1976). Jeremy spoke in his characteristically humorous, but nonetheless meaningful way and he picked out the three “f” words, 'friendship', 'fellowship' and 'fun' as being the key characteristics which bind Kingswood people into such an enduring community. It was good to see a number of Jeremy’s contemporaries too who came along to show their support – so much so that the flow of conversation was such that it had to be continued afterwards at another local venue!

Thanks go to John Allison, as always, for organising the evening and the catering staff for the delicious meal and I look forward to forward future gatherings and hopefully to seeing other Kingswood friends, past and present, who may not previously have been to MJSD"
